On Thursday, April 20th, the Leadership Columbia Class of 2017 gathered with Mayor Steve Benjamin for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil WatermarkedSC – their months-long beautification project at the Lincoln Street tunnel.

The 60-member Leadership Columbia class developed WatermarkedSC as a way to commemorate the incredible spirit and unity of Columbia and its people in the wake of the city’s historic flooding in 2015. Through a combination of murals, historical markers, landscaping, and art installations, Leadership Columbia has given new life to the 100-year-old railroad tunnel and surrounding area.
