As a member of senior management, the CFO will work closely with the senior leadership team and should possess a high work ethic, excellent communication skills, strategic thinking abilities, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. A CFO must be well-versed in all aspects of financial management ranging from simple accounting to broad investment and banking operations.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
This is a self-starter, self-motivated position reporting directly to the Managing Partners in Columbia, SC.
· Organize and manage all company financial matters.
· Track and ensure cash flow is appropriate and sustainable.
· Supervise finance personnel such as controllers, financial advisors, accounts receivables, and accounts payables, and delegate tasks accordingly.
· Oversee all fiscal reporting within the company and create monthly reports.
· Oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities (ex: Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, state attorneys general).
· Comply with national and local financial requirements including any new or emerging legislation.
· Devise and manage strategic financial plans, including methods to increase revenue and reduce costs.
· Manage and track budget and accounting information including billing, collections, and tax (income tax, state sales tax and international VAT tax) information.
· Determine finance KPIs and operational KPIs that drive financial performance.
· Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets.
· Work with senior project managers to ensure contract compliance and reporting.
· Plan and manage all risk management activities for the company including insurance coverage.
· Budget, forecast, and oversee capital investments.
· Adhere to the law and company’s policies.
· Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled organization with strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications, and workflows.
· Management, leadership, and mentoring of human resources and IT departments.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· 15+ years’ leading finance and accounting functions, with at least 5 years as a CFO.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
· Exceptional time management and ability to think critically and problem solve under pressure.
· Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.
· Excellent knowledge of corporate financial law.
· Hands-on experience with risk management.
· Hands-on experience with financial management software, along with ERP implementation.
· Experience with MS Office products and multiple ERP systems (Epicor experience preferred)
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & DETAILS:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
· CPA preferred.
