Steel Fabricator and Welder

General Summary


This position is responsible for the assembling of parts, pieces and elements of the designated project, as well as, the treatment and repair of metal surfaces to ensure safe usage.

Principal duties and responsibilities:


Working with steel to create custom signs, ranging from simple to complex.

Working with various tools and equipment, including welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, hand routers, saws and other assorted tools and machinery to complete the fabrication process.

Maintaining the work area and equipment used in the fabrication and assembly process.

All additional duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:


EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Ability to interpret and verify measurements according to required specifications.

Ability to identify issues and offer solutions to those issues.

Two to four years steel welding and fabrication experience required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Good balance, agility, vision, and depth perception.

Ability to twist, stretch, push, pull, lift on a regular basis.

Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Climb on units and/or ladders.

Lift up to 20 lbs.

Field Activity Manager

General Summary


Responsible for providing onsite presence for the company to ensure professional and effective management of the various field activities required for a successful installation of signage. Serve as the customer-facing representative of the company during various phases of the field activities including but not limited to initial site survey, information verification, landlord coordination, and coordination with and supervision of subcontracted installation company.

Principal duties and responsibilities:


Travel is required. Frequent domestic and occasionally international.

General Duties:

Basic coordination and management duties including all activities and communications required to ensure the timely completion of required site activities in accordance with project schedules, and the profitable completion of all assigned projects and orders.  Travel as required conducting site surveys and coordinating installation work.

Specific Duties:

  • Maintain required documentation and provide reporting to Project Managers and company management as directed including schedules, survey data, installer feedback, quality inspection reports, and manufacturing capacity and capabilities. Maintain well organized files of data, photos, and correspondence with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and interoffice communications. Maintain strict control of sensitive and confidential information that management provides access to.
  • Communicate with subcontractors as required to arrange services, obtain quotations and other documentation, and to confirm scheduling and progress.
  • Provide communications as required to ensure project and site activities are progressing as scheduled.
  • Provide project information to other company departments to allow for the planning, organization, coordination of the work.
  • Provide management with timely and accurate verbal and written reporting on project and order information relative to the status of various aspects of the work. Reporting must be provided in the format and to the detail required by management
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractor installation activities to ensure accurate schedules and timely completion of the works in compliance with the scheduling requirements of the client or as directed by company management.
  • Represent Colite in meetings and/or site visits as directed by executive management.

 

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:


  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, as required for daily communications.  Previous experience with ERP system a plus.  Knowledge and experience with Epicor (ERP) a bonus.
  • Previous experience in sign industry preferred but not required.
  • Good communication skills and professional appearance and attitude a must.
  • Ability to work well with a project team, while operating independently and remotely on occasion is required.
  • Must have an excellent bias for action and have the ability to think through problems and issues and address them in a prompt and effective manner.

Graphics/Vinyl Production Team Member

General Summary


Colite is seeking to hire a Graphics/Vinyl Production Team Member for our Graphics Department. This is a full-time hourly position with benefits. Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm. Must be flexible with work hours as project needs arise, overtime may be required. The work environment is very fast-paced and deadline oriented, and ability to work independently is a must.

Principal duties and responsibilities:


Main responsibilities include:

  • Application of vinyl
  • Cutting vinyl
  • Paint masking
  • Vinyl plotting

Knowledge of Flexi is a plus*

Follow a layout to place printed or plotter cut graphics on a substrate

Prepare substrates for application, which may include cutting, laminating, cleaning for vinyl application

Maintain clean work areas

Work on different projects simultaneously, ability to multi-task and prioritize

Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position under the direction of the Graphics Manager. The position involves specialized tasks which often need to be carried out independently, or with the assistance of other Graphics dept. team members.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:


  • 2-4 years of experience: Vinyl Application i.e., setup, weeding, cutting, taping, trimming and applying to substrates.
  • 1-2 years of experience: Graphic Design & Layout.
  • Creative problem-solver
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Familiarity with handling digital files for pre-press and post production
  • Good mathematical and measurement skills is a MUST.
  • Good personal communication, computer ability, and time-management skills
  • Must be able to work well under pressure to output high quality work in a timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable standing on a ladder to apply vinyl on signage.

Photo Imaging Technician & Visual Designer

Principal duties and responsibilities:


  • Work with the Brand Application Team to design sign families based on each client’s brand and usage guidelines. Create brand and usage guidelines for clients who currently do not have guidelines in place. Illustrate high level concepts for construction, design, and layout.
  • Work with Project Managers to create and revise brand books; render before and after photos of the recommended signs, paint & repair, landscaping, etc.; and illustrate product size, layout, and other details for client approval.
  • Edits and manipulates photographs for photo renderings using various graphic programs.
  • Completes detailed sign package books for use by client.
  • Checks and corrects client provided artwork for use in production.
  • Completes dimensioned signage layouts that are proportional to their surroundings.
  • Develops and executes usage guidelines for client’s brand identity.
  • Prepare design layouts and specifications for posters, brochures, and other printed and graphic materials.
  • Integral part of preserving brand integrity.
  • Recommends whether or not client signage and other forms of display are physically possible and are pleasing to the eye through the use of complete survey booklets.
  • Coordinate interrelated activities with others departments to promote efficient workflow.
  • Keep abreast of recent developments and technologies in the graphic arts field.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Must have proficiency with Adobe suite of products, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:


  • BA in graphic design, communications, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the design industry or equivalent (sign and/or manufacturing industry is a plus).
  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize. Must be able to work quickly and efficiently with minimal direction and meet deadlines.
  • Must be detail oriented with emphasis on visual precision, including color, scale, and layout.
  • Good communication skills are required as there is significant interaction between departmental teams.
  • Willingness to learn new approaches and to accept constructive criticism.

Project Manager

General Summary


The Project Manager will manage the execution of re-branding projects within the constraints of budget, schedule and scope while minimizing risk and ensuring adherence to established processes and methodologies.

Principal duties and responsibilities:


Basic management duties including all activities and communications required to ensure the timely and profitable completion of all assigned projects and orders. Serve as the company point of contact with a client for the coordination of a project or order.

  • Provide excellent customer service to clients while:
    • Confirming that the sign package purchased will meet customer and site needs
    • Ensuring sign package will pass local permitting requirements
    • Providing regular project status updates
    • Resolving any issues at the site to ensure signs are successfully installed
    • Effectively managing the project milestones (Site Survey, Design, Permitting, Production, Installation) to meet requested installation date
  • Responsible for all aspects of project cost management, including budgeting, forecasting, controlling, invoicing, and reporting to ensure projects are profitable and meet an adequate gross margin.
  • Responsible for hiring local subcontractors to install signs for each site; manage installation process.
  • Effective internal milestone tracking and communication to ensure signs are completed, shipped and installed on time

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:


  • Must possess outstanding initiative, judgment, communication, and cooperation characteristics, in addition to strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Proficient PC Skills; including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Bachelor of Art or Science from accredited University. MBA a plus.
